[맨체스터(잉글랜드)=AP/] 올림픽 사상 첫 메달을 노린 홍명보호가 세계최강 브라질의 높은 벽을 실감하며 결승 문턱에서 좌절했다.

7일(현지시각)영국 맨체스터 올드 트라포드 스타디움에서 펼쳐진 '2012 런던올림픽' 브라질과의 4강전에서 3-0으로 완패했다. 이로써 한국은 멕시코에 패한 일본과 10일 동메달을 놓고 또 한번의 '한일전'을 치른다.

브라질은 이날 전반 38분 호물로의 선제골로 포문을 연 뒤 다미앙에게 후반 2번 연속골이 폭발하며 남미 축구의 최강자임을 증명했다.

한편 영국 런던 웸블리 스타디움에서 열린 멕시코-일본과의 대결에서 승리한 멕시코과 올림픽 금메달을 놓고 맞붙는다.

MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Leandro Damiao scored two second-half goals to help Brazil defeat South Korea 3-0 Tuesday and reach its first Olympic men's final in 24 years.

Defensive midfielder Romulo put Brazil ahead in the 38th minute and Damiao added his goals in the 57th and 64th to leave the South Americans one match away from winning their first gold in football.

The Brazilians will face Mexico, which earlier Tuesday defeated Japan 3-1 at Wembley in the other semifinal.
