[런던=AP/] 리듬체조의 여제, 러시아의 예브게니예바 카나예바(21)가 환상적인 연기를 선보이며 지난 2008 베이징올림픽에 이은 2연패를 달성했다. 

11일(현지시각) 영국 런던 웸블리 아레나에서 펼쳐진 '2012 런던올림픽' 리듬체조 결선에서 카네예바는 후프에서 29.350점, 볼에서 29.200점, 곤봉에서 29.450점, 리본에서 28.900점을 받아 합계 116.900점으로 금메달을 목에 걸었다.

준우승은 다리아 드미트리예바(러시아)가 차지했다. 그녀는 카나예바의 직속 후배로 후프에서 28.300점, 볼에서 28.350점, 곤봉에서 28.750점, 리본에서 29.100점을 받아 합계 114.500점으로 경기를 마무리했다.

한편 동메달은 벨로루시의 리우부 차카샤나가 차지했으며 한국의 체조요정 손연재(18, 세종고)는 종합 5위에 오르며 동양인으로서 유일하게 상위권에 랭크되는 영광을 안았다.

LONDON (AP) — Evgeniya Kanaeva laughed, already knowing the question that was coming.

Kanaeva posted the highest score in three of the four events Saturday and finished with 116.90 points, more than two points ahead of teammate Daria Dmitrieva. Kanaeva scored 9.65 or better for execution on all four of her routines, and only one of her event scores was below 29; a 30 is a perfect score.

Liubou Charkashnya of Belarus won the bronze medal.
