[바그다드=AP/KNS] 이라크 수도인 바그다드 서부에서 10일 저녁 (현지시각) 국방 관계자들을 노린 수 차례의 폭발로 여기에 부상을 당한 사람들을 돕기 위해 달려온 사람들을 포함해 최소 10명이 사망했다고 관계자는 밝혔다.

폭발이 처음 발생한 곳은 이라크군 순찰병을 목표로 한 폭탄이 놓인 시아파 구역의 한 길가였다. 몇 분 뒤 가까운 곳에서 지나가는 순찰 경관을 노린 두 번째 폭발이 일어났다.

첫 폭발 현장에 소방관들이 도착하자 세 번째 폭탄이 터졌다고 관계자는 전했다.

그는 이번 공격으로 19명의 사람이 부상을 당했다고 밝혔으며, 병원 관계자가 사상자 수를 확인했다. 관계자는 언론에 말할 수 있는 권한이 없다는 이유로 익명을 요구했다.

2006년과 2007년에 비하면 폭력사태가 급격히 줄어들었으나, 이라크에서는 여전히 폭탄 테러와 총격이 정기적으로 일어나고 있는 상황이다.

BAGHDAD (AP) -- A string of explosions targeting security officials - and people who rushed to the scene to help the injured - killed at least 10 people in western Baghdad Monday evening, officials said.

The first explosion came 　　from a roadside bomb in a Shiite neighborhood, targeting an Iraqi army patrol, a police official said. Minutes later, a second bomb exploded nearby, targeting a passing police patrol.

As firefighters arrived on the scene of the first blast, the third bomb went off, an official said.

He said 19 people were also wounded in the attacks. A hospital official confirmed the casualties. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Violence is no　　where near the peaks seen in 2006 and 2007, but bombings and shootings still occur with regularity.
