[이희원 기자] 탐욕스런 금융자본과 사회 양극화를 규탄하는 이른바 '반 월가(街)점거 시위'가 미국 월가를 시작으로 아시아권 한국과 일본을 비롯 유럽권과 아프리카 등 전 세계 80여 개 국으로 확산되고 있다.

15일 'Occupy Together'로 반 월가(街)점거 시위, 국제 공동행동의 날 집회로 규정된 이날, 사회적 불평등에 항의하는 세계 시민들은 99%에 해당하는 사회적 약자인 시민이 단 1%의 금융자본가들에 탐욕으로 고통 받고 있는 데 뜻을 모아 시위에 동조했다.

미국 월가 뉴욕을 중심으로 전역으로 확산된 시위는 재정위기에 놓인 유럽금융의 중심지 런던의 증권거래소 점령을 시작으로 항의시위가 벌어진 가운데 내부 고발자 웹사이트 위키리크스 창립자인 줄리안 어산지도 시위대에 동참해 탐욕스런 금융자본과 사회적 불평등에 항의했다.

미국 월가에서 촉발된 반 월가(街)점거 시위가 한 달 여 만에 전 세계로 확산되고 있는 가운데 탐욕스런 금융자본에 대한 항의의 목소리는 각국에 만연한 금융권 폐해 및 소외된 계층에 대한 사회적 움직임으로 확산되는 양산을 보이고 있다.
