[워싱턴=신화통신/] 전 세계로 파급된 “월스티리트를 정복하라”운동에 대한 견해는 비록 갈리고 있지만 대다수 미국인들이 월스트리트에 대해 불만족스러워 하고 있다고 최근 실시된 전국 여론조사 결과가에서 24일(한국시각) 밝혀졌다.

CNN/ORC국제여론조사 기구에 의하면 여론조사 응답자 10명중 8명은 월스트리트 은행가들이 탐욕스럽다고 답했으며, 77%는 그들이 지나치게 높은 급여를 받고 있다고 답했으며 2/3는 그들이 정직하지 않다고 답했다는 것이다.

이 조사는 국가의 재정 중추부를 바라보는 여론 또한 갈라져 있음을 제시하고 있다. 1990년대에는 오직 30%만이 월스트리트가 경제를 위하여 최선을 다하는가하는문제에 대해서 신뢰를 가질 수 없다고 답했는데 지금은 그 때보다 24%가 더 높이 불신하는 쪽으로 조사 결과가 나왔다.

그렇다고 해서 재정 부문을 향한 미국의 분노가 9월 중순 뉴욕 시에서 시작된 후 빠르게 미국 내 다른 지역들과 심지어 해외 국가들에게까지 파급된 “월스트리트를 정복하자” 시위에 대한 지지를 의미하지는 않는다.

응답자 10명중 4명은 그 시위운동에 대해 어떤 쪽의 의견도 가지고 있지 않다고 답했다. 어느 편이던 의견을 가진 사람들은 의견이 갈라져서 32%는 그운동에 대해 좋다고 생각하는 입장인데 반하여 ,  29%는 그 반대로 좋지않다고 생각하는 입장이다.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Vast majority of Americans are dissatisfied with the Wall Street, though split on how they feel about the widespread Occupy Wall Street movement, a new national poll showed Monday.

Eight in 10 of those surveyed say Wall Street bankers are greedy, 77 percent say they're overpaid, and two-thirds say they are dishonest, according to the CNN/ORC International poll.

The survey also suggested a deterioration of the public opinion toward the nation's financial center. In the 1990s, only 30 percent of the country said they had no trust at all in Wall Street to do what is best for the economy, 24 percentage points lower than now, it showed.

However, Americans' anger with the financial sector did not translate into support for the Occupy Wall Street protests, a movement which was initiated in mid-September in New York City and rapidly spread to else　　　　　　where across the country and even overseas.

Four in 10 say they don't have an opinion about the protests, the survey showed. Among those who have an opinion, 32 percent say they have a favorable view of the movement, while 29 percent say they have an unfavorable view.
